Overview
Harris Associates provided General Contracting Services for the first generation tenant improvement buildout of (2) floors at the Summerlin 2 building located at Downtown Summerlin. Construction was completed while the building was at 90% occupancy. The company managed the project for the tenant (WeWork) and with the landlord (Howard Hughes).
Harris Associates worked with the tenant and architect/designer to design build an integral stairwell connecting the 2nd and the 3rd floors. Existing floor had to be shored and demolished to accommodate the new structural steel stairwell. This stairwell had to be hoisted through a 2nd floor window due to the length of new structural members for the stair and to reinforce the existing floor cutout.
The MEP rough-in ran prior to the framing rough-in with the Trimble positioning system. 80% of the interior walls were commercial storefront systems, allowing electrical power to be ran though storefront mullions.
